Stop the CHASE!

Have you come across a statement like, "I wish I had taken that offer to fly during my 20's?" Let's say a statement like, "I did not wish to marry your grandfather at the age of 20, I had so much to do." These statements generally come from people who have lived their life and have stories to narrate to their grandchildren. However, I personally feel that these statements indicate a wish, a desire or an incomplete part of life!

Humans feel the constant need to move ahead; probably at a calmer place. Not physically but mentally. The human life gets as complex as the secretive Bermuda triangle. You just don't get to know the science or logic behind it! The way life functions, a continuous need to progress is created, naturally. This need to move forward is indeed a great sign to achieve better results. However, this can definitely be depressing in the lows of your life. While every face is a story, trust me; every wrinkle on that face is looking forward to something more, something higher or merely something more happening in life.

In my recent visit to a lush green garden, I had been privileged to spot a variety of faces. Faces that stored stories, deeper than the novels you read in your daily life. Stories that led to tears while being narrated and the stories that brought goosebumps with it's climax! Humans have complicatedly vicious stories; mountains, struggles and the love affairs - they are not as straight as the directions you see. One thing that was common in these stories was the urge to move forward. Somewhere ahead, not so known destination; the unexplored path of life.

A little munchkin had the desire to join school since he was bored at home, doing the same old things. While this munchkin wished to watch his academic institution, there was this teenager who simply hated attending online lectures. She had the mere desire to travel for a trip to Goa with her beloved friends. The constant need to find satisfaction at any other place or situation except for the present life; was a common desire on these faces!

While young couples on the silent park bench desired to build a happy family with their kids; new parents highly missed their life before marriage. The travel, the romance and the candle light dinners! Housewives, unimaginably desired to have a job or any work that would create a side income and at the same time, working woman felt the need to be home just to cook and take pleasure out of her favorite hobby. The lady who worked out thoroughly wanted to lose weight while the thinner lady desired to gain weight just to conceive! Old grandfather missed how he robbed stuffs from his office while getting flowers for the lady luck of his life. Energetic adult on the opposite was skeptical on choosing the best gift for his dear girlfriend. Life revolved dramatically just in one place, one location; the garden!

If you're a child, you desire to become an adult. When you're a teenager, your desires rise for getting the highs of pre-graduation life. The minute you enter college, you desire for a job that pays all your restaurant bills. Higher studies, more grades, fancy car; everyone craves to upgrade to a better version of present. While you were explained and taught to live in the moment, the world forgets to tell you; to be grateful for these little moments! The moment you start being grateful for the present, your current situation; you shall start to notice the beauty of your life! You shall start to feel peace from within. The phases of life and the constant need to move forward would slow down in the most positive manner. It is extremely vital to have goals and desires but it is utmost important to embrace where you are, to embrace the journey from past to present, to embrace the challenges and the adventures.

Let's accept; the present is the best version you could have today! Breathe in, aim for your goals but do not rush.
What you have today was probably desired by you, may be a few years ago. Kudos to the achievement! Slower down your need to do the next big thing, next big project or the next big race of your life. At times, it is okay to just walk and not chase. To just keep moving with joy and not constantly search for happiness, to simply deal with what is front of you instead of thinking about what tomorrow has to offer. It is definitely relevant to have a life that sounds simple but fulfilled. You just got to hold what makes you alive. For what you have, is anxiously desired right by a million other faces!
